Obtaining Certification

Code of Conduct

All PAIP® and PAIP.a™ candidates and practitioners are responsible for upholding PAIP Canada's Code of Conduct.

Academic requirements

To obtain the PAIP or PAIP.a certification, candidates must begin by registering for the curriculum and pass each module. Afterwards, there is an independently proctored final exam which covers the entire curriculum. Those who undertake the PAIP designation must also complete a financial plan assigned by PAIP Canada.

To register for and obtain either the PAIP or PAIP.a designation, there are no prerequisites.

Experience Requirements

After completing the academic requirements, candidates must provide a letter from their people manager (or human resources department) with their current job title and responsibilities.

For those who do not meet the minimum experience requirements for the PAIP.a designation (one year) or the PAIP designation (two years), they will be granted a three year window to obtain this experience. During this time, it may still be possible to use the PAIP or PAIP.a credentials if all other conditions are met and PAIP Canada has granted permission in writing.

Each request will be assessed on a case by case basis. 

Letter of Reference

The final step is to provide a letter from one's people manager or Human Resources (HR) Department that confirms one's employment and good character.

This letter of reference and one's work experience may be confirmed in one letter if the conditions are met.

Pricing

The following table provides the regular prices for the PAIP designation, PAIP.a designation, the bridge to the PAIP designation (for PAIP.a practitioners only), and the annual renewal fee to renew one's credentials.

For full-time students (under the age of 25), the PAIP.a designation is available for a lower price. If this applies to you, please contact us for further information.
